If you’re a Snapchat fanatic like me, then this news is going to completely astound you. We’ve all known the basic concept of the previous version of the Chat which only limited you to text and some video. So, what’s new? According to their blog– A lot. Don’t believe me? Here’s an excerpt:
“Today, we’re excited to introduce Chat 2.0. You can start by sending a few chats, and when your friend shows up, start talking or video chatting instantly with one tap. Your friend can simply listen if you want to sing them a song, or watch if you have a new puppy to show them. If they aren’t there, you can quickly send an audio note to say what you mean. And sometimes, a sticker says it best. :)
What we love most about the new Chat is how easily you can transition between all these ways of communicating — just like you do in person. When that’s possible, you aren’t texting, calling, or video chatting… you’re just talking. We’ve been working on this redesign for a while — we can’t wait to hear what you think!”
To make this even better, Snapchat apparently partnered with known Grammy Award winning musician, music producer, and DJ - Zedd. According to their Twitter page, Zedd helped Snapchat create some of the sound effects for the cleverly named “Chat 2.0," the new Snapchat messenger.
A huge thank you to our friend @Zedd for the awesome sounds in Chat 2.0!!!

After uploading the app, I am here to inform you that the newest version is, indeed, quite extraordinary. In the Discover portion of the app, they even have a Story dedicated to the newest update to ensure that everyone can know how to use it to its fullest extent.
Not only did they update the Chat, but you can now get lost while viewing Stories. With the newest update, after one story is finished, another one will take its place. While this is confusing at first, it was simple to get used to. The app will even have the name of the person’s story at the top left hand corner to help you remember whose story you’re viewing. To say that I’m excited about this is an understatement. However, I’m glad to know that I’m not alone. Take a look at what some major influencers are saying about the newest update:

And my personal favorite:
