Spanlink Builds Mobile Social Media Application for Cisco CIUS Tablet

@Spanlink MobileMiner, developed for @CiscoSystems CIUS Tablet, debuting at #cl11

MINNEAPOLIS—July 11, 2011Spanlink Communications, a Cisco partner focused on designing, implementing and supporting contact center and customer collaboration solutions, announced today that it has developed Spanlink MobileMiner, the mobile application for Cisco’s SocialMiner software that was built specifically for the soon-to-be-released Cisco CIUS Tablet, the first enterprise-class business tablet.

“Businesses that engage in customer service via social media have a competitive advantage, but must be able to respond quickly and effectively in order to maintain that advantage,” said Roxann Swanson-Sawyers, Spanlink executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. “The stream of online chatter is never-ending, and MobileMiner eliminates barriers to providing the prompt responses that social media conversations demand.”

The SocialMiner software, released last fall, enables companies to track and respond to customers communicating through social media networks. Spanlink MobileMiner improves productivity by granting access to Cisco’s social media monitoring solution from anywhere at any time. Companies can now increase customer satisfaction and loyalty though a mobile solution and proactively address customer service issues that originate through social media networks. Through the application, users can:

  • Access online conversations surrounding their brand in real time
  • Monitor and proactively respond to social media interactions, including tweets, blog posts, Facebook posts, etc.
  • Utilize the location mapping feature to pinpoint where conversations are taking place
  • Tag, handle and/or reserve each post as they would in a call center environment

Spanlink MobileMiner is yet another response to current industry demands to leverage public social media platforms as a channel for customer response. Last year, Spanlink released Spanlink SocialWatch, a hosted social media monitoring service built for Cisco SocialMiner, and remains the only Cisco Partner to offer the cloud-based solution. The MobileMiner application can be powered by both Spanlink SocialWatch and Cisco SocialMiner.

“As a Cisco Collaboration and Contact Center partner, it is our mission to create solutions that solve business problems, from cutting costs to improving customer satisfaction,” said Mark Langanki, Spanlink executive vice president of engineering and operations. “MobileMiner exemplifies Cisco's vision for true collaboration—addressing the needs of our customers by bringing the existing social media solutions to Cisco’s newest mobile device.”

The development of MobileMiner coincides with this year’s annual Cisco Live conference taking place July 10-14 in Las Vegas. Conference attendees can request a live demo of MobileMiner by reaching out to Mark Langanki at mark.langanki@spanlink.com or @marklanganki.
